When an end mill first enters a cut, it will chatter and bounce than finally settle in. During that settling in process, jagged micro edges of carbide are fractured and the coating is removed. GMP is a technology that hones ridges together in a controlled environment to reduce the fracturing that occurs to the cutting edge during the milling process. During the milling process GMP also gives increasing tool life with an enhancing finish. It allows the ridges on the cutting tool to embrace the material instead of causing chatter.
